Ex Nasarawa Commissioner advocates Tourism Development for Revenue Generation.

Comrade Dogo Shammah, Ex-Nasarawa state Information Commissioner

A former Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism in Nasarawa state, Comrade Dogo Shammah has appealed to the Nasarawa state government in particular and other states of the North Central to invest in building tourism and cultural sectors.


This if done he said will to boost the culture of the people and create avenue for revenue generation.

Comrade Dogo Shammah who is a seasoned journalist made the appeal during an interview in lafia saying that to retain the People’s culture as a flagship of tourism , state government should develop sites that abound in various communities as it will develope the capacity to benefit for the people both social and economically.

“Nasarawa state in particular has several cultural festivals as well as tourism sites known nationally and recognized internationally .
We also have many historical sites that if developed will attract huge investment and improve revenue to the state.

“We have the famous Farin Ruwa water falls in Wamba Local Government Area, spring water that does not dry even during dry season in Awe Local Government Area, Feferuwa Lake in Lafia Local Government Area the Captain Melony Hill in Keffi , Ara Rock in Nasarawa Local Government Area among others that we want our ever ready governor, Abdullahi Sule to help develop so that it can benefit the people of the state

The former Commissioner of information culture and tourism further, also advised various state governments, Local and communities to synergize with the media to enable them succeed in the task of showcasing the rich culture of their people.

“I want to commend Governor Abdullahi Sule for his tireless effort to make Nasarawa State a business hub in the North Central zone. His interest in hosting investors is a demonstration of his desire to fast track development,” the former commissioner said.

He explained that the hosting of investors who intend to generate hydro power at the Farin-Ruwa Dam in Wamba LGA was a move that will open up not only Wamba but the entire Nasarawa state through power generation.

Mr. Shammah, a former chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, in the state, expressed satisfaction with the way and manner Governor Sule is handling the affairs of the state especially projects that have direct impacts on the people.

He called for a collective support and united front which governor Abdullahi Sule is championing in other for his administration to realized the needed development, peace and unity of the state.
