Traders are trooping to exhibit their variety of products as the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, Headquarters Church commence a mini trade fair aimed at promoting businesses among members and non members.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Tuesday at the Karl Kumm Extension and Car park of the Church, senior reverend of the Church, Rev. Associate Prof. Caleb Dami said the idea was for economic empowerment.
He said the aim is to provide an avenue for the members to showcase their products and to also create an avenue for economic empowerment among them.
The senior pastor said they desire to have business minded members that can take care of their physical needs. “It is for us to have business minded members that will be independent financially.” He emphasized.

After touring the exhibitions, the senior pastor expressed satisfaction with the planning as he commended the Church Economic Empowerment Committee for the initiative and prayed God that at the end of the historic event, people will be blessed financially.
Earlier in a welcome remark, Chairman of the COCIN Headquarters Church Economic Empowerment Committee, Mr. Bulus Gwash appreciated the vendors and customers for their turn out, saying it is an opportunity for them to celebrate and showcase their businesses especially made in Plateau products.
One of the traders, Mr. Ashom Agwom applauded the organizers, saying it is a step in a right direction because it is what some of them have long for in the Church adding that, without economic empowerment, the church will remain poor.
Mr. Agwom who deals in different traditional attires and regalia, was optimistic that at the end of the exhibition, they will have reason to glorify God in their financial dealing as they expect to sale more.

Another trader, Mrs. Rejoice Sheni said the trade fair is an opportunity for them to connect, as they meet and know each other with their businesses. She noted that through this, they will be able to link each other when in need of something and it will make life easy.
“Now that I’m here, I can see other people I know in the Church did not know they are into businesses. Also, others saw me and were asking surprisingly that they did not know that I sell things, but I have been selling things for many years now.” She said.

The trade fair which is sustained annually, has a display of different products, ranging from clothes, foodstuffs, cosmetics, vegetables and lots more.
The first edition which started on Tuesday will last to Saturday 22 February, 2025, according to the organizers.
