
Plateau State University Bokkos has matriculated 3,400 newly admitted students into its various programmes, following the administration of oath of allegiance on the students.
Statement by the acting Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Masara Kim said the new students were selected from a pool of 5,600 applicants during the 2024/2025 admission process organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Masara in the statement added that the newly admitted students are expected to uphold the university’s mission of teaching, research, and community service.
“The institution has made significant strides since its inception, establishing nine faculties and a school of postgraduate studies.” He added.
According to the statement, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Shedrack Gaya Best, at the matriculation said the university is committed to providing a conducive learning environment for the students.
“We have mechanized ways of providing a secure environment for your safety, including perimeter fencing and efforts to ensure all students stay on campus,” Prof. Best said at the matriculation of the newly admitted students on December 19, 2024.
Professor Best also congratulated the new students, emphasizing that the university’s programmes are globally recognized and designed to equip students with relevant skills for the labour market.
The university had earlier organized an orientation programme to enlighten the new students on the university system. The Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Associate Professor Kezia, who led the exercise, introduced the newly created Career Service Centre at PLASU, aimed at assisting students become reliable and resourceful in the labour market.
