
Mr Abimiku Monday, President, Post Graduate Students Association (POSA) of the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) has urged government at all levels and other education stakeholders to invest more in Post graduate research.
Abimiku made this known in an interview with newsmen on the sidelines of the association’s maiden week held in Keffi local government area of Nasarawa state recently.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of the POSA Week is “Unleashing potentials of Postgraduate education and leadership for Nigeria’s growth”.
According to Abimiku, research is the bedrock, driver of Postgraduate studies and without research, there won’t be accomplished scholars hence the need for the federal government to invest more in Postgraduate research do as to produce scholars who will strive to make Nigeria a developed country through innovations and ideas.
“For Nigeria to produce accomplished or erudite scholars of repute in the country and across the world, a conducive environment must be provided for candidates to be subjected to the rigors of academic research,” he said.
Abimiku said it was due to the importance of Postgraduate research that led the Post Graduate Students Association POSA to organize it’s maiden week recently with the topic “Unleashing potentials of Postgraduate education and leadership for Nigerian growth”. (NAN)
