PLHA holds Valedictory Session for Late Colleague

Members of the Plateau State House of Assembly have on Monday hold a valedictory session for it’s former colleague, late Barrister Henry Longs, member representing Pankshin South in the state Assembly.


The valedictory session was held at the old Government House Rayfield, the temporary sitting venue for the House of Assembly as the Plateau State House of Assembly complex is to undergo renovation.


The members took turns to extolled the virtue of their late colleague shortly after the House Majority Leader Nanlong Daniel read the biography of the late member, Hon. Barrister Henry Longs.


The speaker, Yakubu Sanda who eulogized the late lawmaker, comfort the immediate family of the lawmaker, his constituency and members of the Assembly  as he asked them to reflect on their lives as dead is inevitable.


Other members who spoke described him as a calm colleague with few words and that he has sacrifice a lot, not just for his people but the entire Plateau State best on his attribute of a man that never compromised truth for anything.


Plateau State deputy Governor Professor Sonni Tyoden who is currently the acting governor of the State, noted shortly after the valedictory session that the government is in pain over the demised of the member who are members of the same political party.


The deputy Governor also appealed to the members of the state legislature to use the opportunity for mitigation and close ranks and relate as brothers and sisters to work for the state.


Until his death, Hon. Barr. Henry Longs was the Chairman House Committee on Judiciary and member of other committees of the House.


Born on 1 October, 1968, Barr. Henry Longs died on the 28 November, 2021 after a surgery on one of his Legs at the aged of 53.
