The activeness of the Police in Nasarawa State had yesterday night yielded positive result as the police succeeded in foiling an attempted Kidnapped of the Nasarawa South PDP Zonal Chairman.
In a statement by the state Police Command spokesperson, ASP Ramhan Nansel said the command received a distressed call that six unidentified gunmen invaded the residence of one Umar Nasiru Black located at Bukan kwato area of Lafia and attempted to kidnap him.
He added that upon receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi immediately mobilised Police patrol teams stationed at the area to the scene and the kidnap was foiled due to their prompt intervention and that of members of the community.
The statement added that in a bid to escape, the hoodlums hit the said Umar Nasiru Black with a stick on his forehead and shot one of his neighbour on the right leg before they narrowly escaped into the nearby bushes.
The Command spokesperson said the victims were rushed to an undisclosed Hospital for medical treatment and are in stable condition.
He said that efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and investigation is also ongoing.
